Talked to the FBI

I just talked to Brad Howard. What he said is, she wasn't arrested. However, she did plea guilty via her lawyer. On May 17th there will be a very short hearing (about 3 minutes) at the Ronald Regan Federal Building in Santa Ana. At that time they'll set a date for her plea hearing. That should take place about 3 weeks later and will be a much longer hearing. It's where she enters her plea and answers the questions from the court. Once that's done they'll set a sentencing hearing which will be about 60 to 90 days later. Once that's set we can send letters to the judge and do our victim statements at the hearing. Will keep you posted as to the dates and times of the events. Brad said Mary is taking the fall and nobody else is going down. I feel that her kids and the notaries should also be going down. However, at least she will go down!

  1. Beth, thanks for letting us know. I check this site pretty regularly! I am happy she has finally taken some responsibility, although, like Bernie, i think most of her assests have been put in her kids names....i think that includes ours too!

  2. Yesterday i got a letter from the US Dept of Justice regarding Mary Elaine Perkins. They said that she has been charged and the main charge is Postal Service Crimes...I am not sure what that is but i have called Delores Perez victim witness specialist to find out more. I will not be very happy is she is pleading guilty to a lesser charge! I will keep you all posted!

  3. Today i got something from Delores Perez...nothing personal just the summons. I guess she could get up to 20 years, but they want to give her less time since she confessed. I guess i do not know what mail fraud is, but wow, but about the people from whom she took the money! Anyone have any thoughts?

  4. Hi,
I wonder if anyone else is reading this. Who is going to the sentencing? I just wrote a second letter to Stuart Pfeifer who wrote the article in the LA times, i am actually trying to get someone to do some investigative reporting and really report what is going on with her. When i read that they were thinking of giving her a "light" sentence i felt totally shocked at the idea. If anyone else wants to write him i think it would be a great idea. Just go to the article that appeared in the LA Times and send him an email encouraging him to really report the story...it would be good.
