Today we met with the trustees and our attorneys. They asked me to go on the blog and ask for the following information from each investor
Name
Address
Phone Number
Amount invested and number of loans
Who you sent the checks to and who were they payable to
Did you deal with Mary or another sales person
Did you have any dealings with an escrow company, title company, notary? If so who?
Please email all information to me. I won't take the information over the phone! It's up to each investor if they want to provide the information for me to forward. If you don't want to, I'm not sure how you'll be included in the petition. I will forward your information to the trustees. My email address is blkjakbeth@aol.com
Please don't ask who the trustees are, they will get in touch with you.
Right now they are in the fact finding phase. Once that's done they'll assess if there are assets to go after and how they will go about it. Our attorneys had a meeting with the trustees after the main meeting was done. They too are going to figure out the best way to go.
Good to have the trustee in place as I know the original strategy had to be adjusted because of an involuntary bankruptcy petition that was filed by a small group of investers. This is certainly the time for all of us to unite together if there is any hope of re-couping assets from Mary and/or Carlton. There is far more power in many than one or a few. I have talked to some investors who read this blog, but are retisent to put names (you can be annonymous) or comments. Obviously there are understandable trust issues and I'm sure we all share a kernel of chagrin that we participated in these investments and didn't see the disastrous end coming. Let that go! I know Beth personally and can attest to her complete honesty and tenacity to find justice for Mary's criminal behavior. She will absolutely respect those who are concerned about confidentiality. She has been entrusted by the trustee to collect the info requested above so that it can be turned over in one complete file. There are close to 200 investors so you can imagine the confusion if we act individually. The more we can put together, the better the case. The trustee feels there are avenues to follow connected with Mary that could be beneficial to all of us. It may take you a few minutes to collect the information needed, but it is certainly better than not taking any action at all! I know that in several cases this unconsionable scheme has been devastating. Some have had to put their homes up for sale and find themselves destitute. Tragically many of them are retired senior citizens who trusted Mary having invested with her for decades. I feel it is our obligation to find justice and restitution for all.
ReplyDeleteI was also at the trustee meeting. PLEASE send your information to Beth so she may forward it to the trustee. This is a court appointed trustee and only if we all band together and provide as much information as possible for the trustee will we see any action done thru the civil suite. The more information we gather the less cost there will be for all of us.
